WWE No Mercy: Dolph Ziggler will retire if he loses to The Miz
Show-Off to quit if he does not win Intercontinental Title
Wednesday 28 September 2016 15:37, UK
Dolph Ziggler will be forced to retire from WWE if he fails to win the Intercontinental Championship from The Miz at No Mercy.
The Show-Off agreed to put his career on the line for one more shot at the prestigious belt following recent controversial defeats to The Miz at Backlash and on Smackdown.
Ziggler lost at Backlash when his rival's wife, Maryse, sprayed an unknown substance in his face, while he suffered defeat in similar fashion on the blue brand last week with Miz doing the spraying.
The Miz derided Ziggler's nearly-man status on this week's edition of Smackdown, which took place in both competitors' birth state of Ohio.
Ziggler then vowed to quit WWE for good if he is unable to claim the Intercontinental Title for the fifth time at No Mercy, which you can catch live on Sky Sports Box Office on Sunday, October 9.
Ziggler also came up short at SummerSlam in August when he battled then-WWE World Champion Dean Ambrose, but there have been some notable WWE highs for the 36-year-old.
The Show-Off is a two-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion, while he has seized the United States Title on one occasion and also won the World Tag Team Titles with the Spirit Squad.
Ziggler won a Money in the Bank Ladder Match in 2012, cashing in his contract the night after WrestleMania 29 in April 2013 to prise the World Heavyweight Title from Alberto Del Rio.
Will No Mercy be Ziggler's final night as a WWE Superstar? Find out by watching the show live on Sky Sports Box Office from 1am on Sunday, October 9 (Monday morning) - the show is priced £14.95 for customers in the United Kingdom and €21.95 for viewers in the Republic of Ireland.
