Dolph Ziggler has become the No 1 contender to the WWE Title after winning a Fatal Four-Way on Tuesday's edition of Smackdown Live.
Ziggler pinned Dean Ambrose following the earlier exits of The Miz and Luke Harper to earn a championship opportunity against AJ Styles on the December 27 episode of the blue brand.
The Miz unintentionally helped his long-time rival Ziggler triumph - the Intercontinental Champion distracting Ambrose, allowing The Show-Off to blast him with a match-sealing Superkick.
James Ellsworth is still owed a WWE Title shot after illness stopped him from competing on Tuesday, while John Cena may thrust himself into the championship picture when he returns to Smackdown in two weeks' time.
The Hype Bros secured a match for The Wyatt Family's Tag Team Titles after prevailing in a battle royal - Zack Ryder lastly eliminating The Ascension's Konnor to nail the win for himself and Mojo Rawley.
The Hype Bros may have to delay their title tilt, though, after suffered Ryder a knee injury during the bout - the New Yorker will undergo an MRI scan on Wednesday to determine the extent of the damage.
Alexa Bliss remains Smackdown Women's Champion after limping out of her title defence against former belt holder Becky Lynch - Lynch unable to win the strap via count-out.
Bliss had been forced to defend her title by Smackdown Commissioner Shane McMahon but a leg injury - whether real or fabricated - caused Bliss to slink out of the ring.
Plus, Natalya was caught in a roll-up by Carmella as she tried to convince Nikki Bella that she had not attacked her at November's Survivor Series pay-per-view.
