Jimmy Butler stepped up in the absence of the rested Joel Embiid to score 38 points in the Philadelphia 76ers' 117-111 victory over the Detroit Pistons.
In 38 minutes on court, Butler hit 13-of-27 shots (48.1 per cent), made 11 of his 12 free throws and added six rebounds, six assists, a block and three steals.
Butler opened his account with a dunk following a pass from TJ McConnell. In the second quarter, he salvaged possession after a messy Sixers sequence before driving to the rim to score despite being fouled.
In the fourth quarter, Butler converted another 'And 1' play, resisting contact to score on a turnaround bank shot from the left side of the key before he sealed the win with a breakaway dunk after collecting JJ Redick's court-length pass.
