James Harden capped a superb 44-point performance with a clutch three-pointer in the final seconds of overtime to seal a 135-134 win for the Houston Rockets over the Golden State Warriors.
Harden settled a dramatic encounter at the Oracle Arena in the dying moments of the extra session, receiving an in-bounds pass from team-mate Gerald Green with the Rockets trailing 134-132 with 5.5 seconds remaining.
Utilising a screen from PJ Tucker to escape the close attention of Warriors defender Klay Thompson, Harden lofted an arching 25-foot jump shot that rattled home, putting the Rockets ahead with 1.0 seconds left on the clock.
The Warriors could not respond, a desperate Stephen Curry shot from inside his own half cannoning off the top of the backboard leaving the Rockets to celebrate a famous victory.
Harden's game-winning shot topped off another superb performance in which the Rockets' star produced his second successive triple-double. It was also the fifth consecutive game in which he has scored in excess of 40 points.
