Lakers forward Kyle Kuzma scored 35 points to lead Team USA to victory in the Rising Stars game

Los Angeles Lakers forward Kyle Kuzma dropped 35 points to claim MVP honours as Team USA defeated Team World 161-144 in the Rising Stars game.

Kuzma's game-high tally came in just 22 minutes as he shot 15-of-27 from the field, including 3-of-10 from three-point range.

The Lakers forward made his MVP intentions clear from the outset, hammering home two alley-oop dunks in the opening five minutes of the game. He then found his range from downtown, draining two long three-pointers on successive Team USA possessions.

Kuzma nailed his third triple mid-way through the second quarter before collecting an offensive rebound and tossing up a an unorthodox underarm hook shot that also connected.

A vicious tomahawk dunk punctuated Kuzma's third quarter efforts and he added several easy baskets late on to cement himself as the game's leading scorer as the US team rolled to a 17-point win.
