Former Toronto Raptors star DeMar DeRozan came back to haunt his old team, posting the first triple-double of his career to lead the San Antonio Spurs to victory.
DeRozan played for the Raptors for nine seasons and admitted he was heartbroken when Toronto traded him to San Antonio in a deal that brought them Kawhi Leonard.
Facing his former team for the first time clearly motivated DeRozan, who showcased his all-round game to record 21 points, 14 rebounds and 11 assists in 33 minutes to guide the Spurs to a resounding 125-107 win.
DeRozan opened his account with a sweet left-handed floater in the first quarter and followed it up with an emphatic right-handed slam off a curl as the Spurs defenders stood watching.
In the second half, he turned distributor, finding Bryn Forbes with a cross-court under-arm pass to set up a three-pointer and finding LaMarcus Aldridge with a deft bounce pass that led to an easy deuce.
