Reaction from both camps after Team Bath beat Celtic Dragons 60-42 in the Vitality Netball Superleague

Bath cemented their place in the top four with a 60-42 win over Celtic Dragons in the Vitality Netball Superleague.

Chelsea Lewis helped Team Bath to victory against former team Celtic Dragons, which moved her fourth-placed side six points clear of nearest rivals Loughborough Lightning.

The visitors headed into the match on the back of three straight defeats, but they made a spirited start in the first quarter and tied the scoreline at 12-12 in the dying seconds.

Defensive turn-overs from Sam Cook and Eboni Beckford-Chambers helped Team Bath take command in the second quarter as they opened a 28-20 lead at half-time.

There was an injury worry for the hosts, with goal-attack Rachel Shaw replaced by Lenize Potgeiter, although this change failed to disrupt Anna Stembridge's side.

Amanda Varey, who was switched to wing-attack, proved equally adept in this new position as she expertly picked out Lewis and Team Bath closed the third quarter with a commanding 44-32 advantage.

I'm really pleased that we were able to establish a lead and then build on it.
Anna Stembridge

Head coach Stembridge handed a debut to Shaunagh Craig at goal-attack in the final quarter and her players piled on further points to complete a convincing victory.

"I'm really pleased that we were able to establish a lead and then build on it," said Stembridge. "We talked about that beforehand.

"Credit though to Dragons, they came out all guns blazing and we knew that the match would be physical tonight but our players dealt well with that physicality".
