For Celtic Dragons and Sirens it is a quick Vitality Superleague turnaround as they kick off Week Nine on Sky Sports Mix on Monday night.

After a bumper weekend of action there is just a two and three-day turnaround respectively for a pair of franchises in need of victories for very different reasons.

Sirens have moved up to fifth place on the back of their first consecutive wins of the season, having beaten play-off contending Team Bath they followed up on Saturday with a tremendous 65-59 win over defending champions Surrey Storm.

Gail Parata's squad is one of the best in the competition and with their combinations now beginning to gel they will be looking to go on a run that would take them into the shake-up for Finals weekend in June.

The top four teams will battle it out in the semi-finals on Saturday June 10 with the Grand Final set to take place on Sunday and Sirens will have designs on the play-off places having moved to with six points of Manchester Thunder in fourth.

How it stands after eight rounds of competition

Vitality Superleague - Week Eight Results

Team Bath 41-48 Manchester Thunder
Wasps 62-40 Celtic Dragons
Sirens 65-59 Surrey Storm
Hertfordshire Mavericks 48-45 Severn Stars
Team Northumbria 47-70 Loughborough Lightning

For Celtic Dragons, the need is very different. The Welsh franchise have lost all their games this season, the most recent coming at Wasps on Friday night where Tamsin Greenway made a surprise return for the hosts.

That made it eight consecutive defeats for the Dragons who will have it all to against an in-form Sirens who also won the first meeting between the teams this season.

Sirens ran out dominate 73-36 winners when the teams met in Birmingham on Week Two's Super 10s but Dragons head coach Trish Wilcox will be hoping revenge and home advantage will help their pursuit of a first three points of the season.
