The Denver Broncos have agreed a new six-year deal with linebacker Von Miller which is reportedly worth $114.5m and makes him the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history.
Miller's agency, Vanguard Sports, announced the deal on Friday, and the reigning Super Bowl MVP posted a Twitter photo of himself in a Broncos jersey with the caption 'FOR LIFE'.
The deal includes a reported $70m in guaranteed money for the 27-year-old Miller, surpassing the $63m guaranteed Fletcher Cox received from the Philadelphia Eagles last month.
Miller was named Super Bowl 50 MVP in the Broncos' win over the Carolina Panthers in February, when he finished with six tackles, 2.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and two quarterback hurries.
Denver designated Miller as their franchise player in February, meaning he was prevented from entering free agency and would have to play the 2016 season for the guaranteed tender of just over $14m.
Miller's agent, Joby Branion, and the Broncos agreed to the overall parameters of the deal last month but an agreement on Miller's guaranteed money has now been reached.
The June offer included $38.5m in guarantees over the first two years and another $1.3m in workout bonuses, according to ESPN, plus the chance to earn another $19.5m in guaranteed money in 2018.
The deadline for long-term deals to be agreed between teams and players who have received a franchise tender was 9pm on Friday.
