Sky Sports' live triple header begins with a battle between two 9-4 teams vying for the play-offs in their respective divisions.

The Detroit Lions travel to New York to take on the Giants, hoping to maintain their two-game advantage in the NFC North.

Following that we have a longstanding AFC rivalry as the 11-2 New England Patriots meet the Denver Broncos with an opportunity to clinch the AFC East and confirm their post-season place.

In the final match-up, the NFC South's fifth seeded Tampa Bay Buccaneers head to Dallas, knowing victory could put them in pole position to win the division.

The Lions have won seven of their last eight games, and currently rank as the NFC's No 2 seed. Matthew Stafford is playing at an MVP level, but the quarterback suffered a finger injury which may affect his ability to throw the ball.

Centre Travis Swanson looks likely to miss his second consecutive game as he struggles to deal with a concussion, while Theo Riddick and Ezekiel Ansah are both questionable.

New York beat the Dallas Cowboys for the second time last weekend, as their stellar defence dominated Dak Prescott in a 10-7 win. The Giants will be without Jason Pierre-Paul, but have all other starters available for selection.

Turnovers will be key in this game as the Giants look to protect the ball better than they have done in recent weeks. The team have already surpassed last year's total of 21 by three, with three games still remaining. On the other hand, Detroit have only turned the ball over 10 times this season, third best in the NFL.

Neither team is particularly comfortable running the ball, so look for Stafford and Manning to air it out downfield. Stafford's injury versus Manning's inconsistency could be the biggest match-up of them all come Sunday.

It is one of the biggest AFC rivalries, despite a 2,000 mile distance separating the two teams, but the Denver Broncos come up against the New England Patriots once more this weekend.

Peyton Manning and the Broncos won both games last year, including a 20-18 AFC Championship victory which sent them on to their third Super Bowl victory.

This time around, Denver need the win to keep pace in the AFC West and protect their Wild Card slot, whereas the Patriots will hope to wrap up their division and move a step closer to securing home advantage with the No 1 seed.

Tom Brady is once again in the frame for regular MVP, after another 400+ yard game against Baltimore on Monday night. The four-time Super Bowl winner is yet to throw an interception on the road this season, but going up against the Broncos pass rush is a different story.

Von Miller is 1.5 sacks away from 75 in his career, and the Broncos as a team are second in the NFL with 38 sacks this year.

The Patriots have an additional weapon in running back LeGarrette Blount, who is having a career year. Blount has 14 touchdowns this season - tying the Patriots' single-season rushing record, with three games left to play.

In contrast, the Broncos are 29th in run defence, so stopping Blount's influence will be a key factor if Denver are to win.

The Cowboys host the red-hot Buccaneers in the final game of our triple header, as they look to recover from just their second defeat of the season.

Once again it was New York who stopped Dak Prescott, Ezekiel Elliott, Dez Bryant and co - the Cowboys 11 regular season wins are now bookended by defeats to the Giants and they win be keen to bounce back at AT&T Stadium.

The Cowboys have already sealed a play-off spot and can wrap up a first NFC East title since 2014 with a win coupled with a loss or a tie for the Giants, or even a tie if the Giants lose.

However, no team is riding a longer win streak than Tampa Bay who have moved into second spot in the NFC South on the back of five straight victories, and their 8-5 record is the same as the divisional leading Atlanta Falcons and good enough for a place in the post season.

The Buccs are chasing a first play-off spot since 2007 and have won five of their six away games so will test a Cowboys team determined to prove last week at MetLife was a blip.

You can follow all the live coverage from our triple-header on Sky Sports 2 from 5.30pm as well as all the touchdown action in Redzone on Sky Sports Mix from 6pm.
