Quarterback Sam Bradford has been ruled out of the Minnesota Vikings' game against the Detroit Lions on Sunday due to lingering soreness in his left knee.
Coach Mike Zimmer said on Thursday that Bradford's status remains day to day. Surgery isn't needed, Zimmer said, only rest.
"He's feeling better. He's just not ready to play," Zimmer said.
Bradford hasn't practised in a week. He was declared out shortly before kick off on September 17 at Pittsburgh, then two days before the most recent game against Tampa Bay when he travelled to seek a second medical opinion on the knee from renowned orthopaedic specialist Dr James Andrews.
Bradford was listed as day to day on the Vikings injury report this week but Zimmer admits he remains uncertain when he will be able to return.
"It's only been not even a week, five days or something, since he went down and saw the doctor," Zimmer said.
