Quarterback Aaron Rodgers threw for three touchdowns as the Green Bay Packers claimed a 31-23 win over the Chicago Bears.
Rodgers, the 2014 MVP, completed 18 of 23 passes to guide the Packers to a hard fought win over the Bears, ensuring that Chicago head coach John Fox made a losing start to his reign at Soldier Field.
Two of Rodgers' touchdown passes found the grateful hands of James Jones, who caught four passes for 51 yards, including a one-handed grab on a 13-yard score late in the first quarter.
Randall Cobb had 38 yards receiving, catching a five-yard touchdown to extend Green Bay's lead to 24-16 in the fourth quarter, which Clay Matthews secured victory when he intercepted Jay Cutler at the Packers' 20 and returned it 48 yards.
Cutler endured a difficult afternoon for the Bears, finishing with 18 of 36 for 225 yards, although he did throw a 24-yard touchdown to Martellus Bennett in the dying stages,
Eddie Lacy also impressed for the Packers as he ran for 85-yards and a late touchdown, while Julius Peppers produced a resolute defensive display for the defending NFC North champions.
