Aaron Rodgers threw for two touchdowns as he guided the Green Bay Packers to a 27-17 victory over the Seattle Seahawks.
The Green Bay quarterback completed 25 of 33 passes for 249 yards and Seattle could not repeat their dramatic comeback from eight months ago, when they overcame a 12-point deficit in last season's NFC Championship game.
During a strong start from the hosts, Rodgers hit wide receiver James Jones for a 29-yard touchdown, and both teams then exchanged field goals before the Packers took a 13-3 lead into half-time.
But Seattle hit back with back-to-back touchdowns to open the second half as running back Fred Jackson took a five-yard touchdown pass, while receiver Doug Baldwin added another from 13 yards to open a 17-13 lead for Seattle.
Green Bay answered with a 44-yard field goal, set up by a 35-yard run by James Starks, who played most of the game after Eddie Lacy limped out of the first quarter with an injured ankle.
Rodgers then regained the lead for the Packers in the fourth quarter, firing a bullet to tight end Richard Rodgers in the end zone for the touchdown.
The Rodgers-Rodgers partnership again proved productive when the tight end made a tremendous catch, despite interference by linebacker Bobby Wagner, and Green Bay pulled into a commanding 27-17 lead.
