Carolina Panthers head coach Ron Rivera has revealed why he enforced a hoverboard ban on his players during the season.
The Panthers are just one match away from reaching Super Bowl 50 after Sunday's 31-24 win over the Seattle Seahawks.
Rivera has been keeping a protective eye on his Panthers and immediately ruled out the use of Swegways after he spotted players drag racing on hoverboards at the Bank of America Stadium.
"Have you seen those things on YouTube blowing up?" Rivera told ESPN. "I mean, that's what concerns me more than anything else. What if something crazy happens?
"I will say this, too: I caught them drag racing in the freaking hallway one time, too."
Former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson recently posted a video which showed him falling dramatically from the device.
And Rivera said he had shown videos to his players of hoverboards bursting into flames to emphasize his concerns.
"I said, 'Guys, we can't have those in here. You bring one of those things in here and they short-circuit and the next thing you know we've got a freaking fire here'," said Rivera.
