Philadelphia Eagles trade Kiko Alonso and Byron Maxwell to the Miami Dolphins

The Philadelphia Eagles have traded defensive starters Kiko Alonso and Byron Maxwell to the Miami Dolphins.
Both linebacker Alonso and cornerback Maxwell were major 2014 signings by former general manager and head coach Chip Kelly, who was fired in December.
The transaction signals new Eagles GM Howie Roseman's intent to move on from Kelly's era, with Roseman also trading another big-money Kelly acquisition, running back DeMarco Murray, to the Tennessee Titans later on Monday.
Maxwell arrived in Philadelphia from Seattle, fresh from playing in a second consecutive Super Bowl. The Dolphins will take over a contract that will see the former Seahawk make $8.5m in 2016, followed by $10.5m in 2017.
Linebacker Alonso played for former Eagles coach Kelly during his college days at Oregon, before being drafted by the Buffalo Bills in 2013.
He was once again reunited with Kelly a year ago, in a surprising trade that sent Philadelphia's then-star running back LeSean McCoy to Buffalo.
The Eagles will receive undisclosed draft picks for their part in the trade, which will be finalised after both players complete their medicals.
