Andrew Luck has earned the right to be the highest paid player in NFL history, believes Indianapolis Colts team-mate Dwayne Allen.
Luck, who signed a six-year $140m contract this offseason, is coming off an injury-plagued year but Allen is confident the quarterback can put that behind him.
"Luck is the greatest player on our team, and one of the best in the NFL," Allen exclusively told Sky Sports. "So he has deservedly been recognised with a new contract.
"It's not about the fame or the contract, he's just focused on winning. And that's what we want from our quarterback."
The Colts have locked down key starters this offseason with Allen joining Luck, T.Y. Hilton and Anthony Constanzo in signing new contracts until at least 2019.
Tight end Allen was optimistic on the future of the franchise, saying: "We have a great foundation. It's important to have that continuity in the locker room, to grow and sustain a winning culture.
"When you keep guys who are working hard and doing the right things, it builds that winning culture."
The Colts will play the Jacksonville Jaguars at Wembley Stadium on October 2, and Allen is excited to play a divisional game in London.
"It's huge for the sport. I hope that the crowd understands the significance of the divisional game and the playoff implications.
"The intensity will pick up even more and there's a great importance behind it."
