Odell Beckham Jr had to leave a practice session after picking up an injury

Odell Beckham Jr has confirmed the ankle injury he sustained during a New York Giants practice session on Sunday is not serious.

The New York Giants wide receiver sustained a cut to his ankle when recently-recruited cornerback Janoris Jenkins stepped on his foot as the pair landed after jumping to catch a pass.

Odell Beckham Jr insists it is only a matter of time before London has its own NFL franchise.

Beckham got up after the play and walked to the end zone before sitting down to look at his foot.

Giants medical staff quickly surrounded him and examined the foot before Beckham Jr limped to the sidelines a few minutes later.

"After I went down, I was done for the day," Beckham Jr told reporters.

"There are plenty more days on camp so we'll be all right. It's a minor setback for the time being I guess, whether that's hours or days."

The Giants are off on Monday and it remains uncertain whether Beckham will practise on Tuesday, the first day the Giants wear pads.
