Los Angeles Rams' defensive star Aaron Donald could not contain his anger after being ejected during a heavy defeat by the San Francisco 49ers.
The Rams endured a night to forget as the 49ers cruised to a 28-0 win on Monday night and Donald's frustrations boiled over in the fourth quarter at Levi's Stadium.
The defensive tackle had earlier conceded a personal foul penalty for ripping a helmet off San Francisco's Quinton Patton and the fired-up Donald was then ordered off the field after making contact with the referee.
Moments after Donald's departure, San Francisco piled on more pain as Carlos Hyde added his second touchdown to increase the 49ers' winning margin.
Rams coach Jeff Fisher admitted that Donald lost his composure and the player expressed his regret in a post-match interview.
"Any time you lose like that, you're going to be embarrassed," said Donald. "It's not the way we play. That was not our best football, and we know that. We got to play a lot harder."
