Alshon Jeffrey leaves Chicago Bears for Philadelphia Eagles

Philadelphia Eagles have bolstered their receiving options with the signings of Alshon Jeffrey and Torrey Smith in NFL free agency.
It is the capture of Jeffrey that will most excite Eagles fans, and quarterback Carson Wentz, as he was one of the most sought-after options to hit the market.
The 27-year-old, who also drew interest from Indianapolis and Minnesota, has signed a one-year deal worth a reported $14million having failed to land a long-term deal.
Jeffrey played under the franchise tag for the Bears last season but has suffered injury issues as well as a four-match suspension, so a one-year deal makes sense for the Eagles who get a top-level receiving option out to prove his worth.
Joining Jeffrey is former San Francisco WR Smith, who was released earlier this week after a disappointing spell with the 49ers - the 28-year-old has signed a three-year deal in Philadelphia.
Jeffrey and Smith join Jordan Matthews as receiving options for Wentz, who impressed in his rookie season despite a less than spectacular contribution from his targets last year.
