Trey Griffey, the son of Baseball Hall of Fame legend Ken Griffey Jnr, has joined the Indianapolis Colts.
Griffey was not picked up in the NFL Draft that ended Saturday but made 23 catches for 382 yards for the University of Arizona last season. He made 31 catches for 405 yards in 2014.
Griffey Jnr, who smashed 630 career home runs, was inducted into the Hall of Fame last year after 22 Major League Baseball seasons with the Seattle Mariners, Cincinnati Reds and the Chicago White Sox.
His father Ken Griffey Snr was a three-time All-Star outfielder who won World Series crowns in 1975 and 1976 with Cincinnati. He played from 1973 to 1991 for the Reds, New York Yankees, Atlanta Braves and Seattle.
Trey Griffey, 23, was selected by the Mariners in last year's MLB draft in the 24th round, matching his father's jersey number, despite not having played baseball competitively since before high school.
