Sheldon Richardson, a former NFL defensive rookie of the year, has been traded from the New York Jets to the Seattle Seahawks for receiver Jermaine Kearse on Friday.
The Jets also receive a 2018 second-round draft pick and the teams are exchanging seventh-round picks.
The 26-year-old Richardson, who has spent his entire four-year career with the Jets - recording 241 tackles and 18 sacks, made the Pro Bowl in 2014.
Kearse, 27, has been a starter for the Seahawks since 2014 but is coming off a disappointing season in 2016 when he caught 41 passes for 510 yards and one touchdown in 16 games.
