The Colts' franchise quarterback missed all of the team's offseason workouts, all of training camp and preseason before he was activated from the physically unable to perform list on Saturday.

But Colts general manager Chris Ballard official announcement on Monday that Luck would not play in the team's first game of the season.

Instead, Scott Tolzien is likely to lead the team, with the six-year NFL back-up set to make only his fourth NFL start.

The Colts did acquire former New England Patriots third-string quarterback Jacoby Brissett on Saturday via a trade - wide receiver Donte Moncrief going the other way - but it's highly unlikely he'll so straight into the team on Sunday.
