Shaquem Griffin has defied the odds by earning an invite to this year's NFL Combine, despite only having one hand.

Griffin had his left hand amputated at just four-years-old because of a birth defect but, after impressing in college football, he now has the chance to show his skills at the NFL's most prestigious scouting event.

The University of Central Florida (UCF) linebacker, twin brother of the Seattle Seahawks cornerback Shaquill Griffin, was named American Athletic Conference defensive player of the year in 2016 and defensive MVP of the Peach Bowl after UCF completed a 13-0 season last year.

Griffin shared the news of his invite in a video on Twitter, saying: "I want to let you all know I got invited to the NFL combine.

"Thank you all for your support. The entire nation is behind me and I couldn't do it without you.

"There is something special coming soon and you are going to see it. I have got a lot to prove, against all odds."

The combine, which takes place in the first week of March in Indianapolis, will give Griffin the chance to compete with the best draft prospects and potentially meet senior scouts from NFL franchises.
