The New York Jets have signed wide receiver Quincy Enunwa to a contract extension, keeping one of their key offensive players from becoming a free agent after the season.
The team announced the multi-year deal on Friday after its final full practice ahead of their final regular game of the season against the New England Patriots on Sunday.
The deal is worth $36m over four years, including $20m in guarantees, according to the Associated Press.
"Quincy is a key part of our foundation, and we are thrilled that this contract will keep him here for years to come," Jets general manager Mike Maccagnan said.
Enunwa will sit out his third straight game Sunday with an ankle injury, but had 38 catches for 449 yards and a touchdown after missing last season with a neck injury.
He has 118 receptions for 1,621 yards and five touchdowns since being drafted in the sixth round in 2014.
"I knew when I got here that I wanted to be a Jet for a very long time," Enunwa said after signing the contract. "Now, I'll get my opportunity and it feels really good.
"I'm excited for the future and for some more big plays and I think there is a lot in store for us as a team."
