League takes dim view of supportive message for imprisoned quarterback
Roddy White and four of his Atlanta Falcons team-mates have been fined for violating the NFL's uniform regulations during the 34-14 defeat to the New Orleans Saints on December 10.
After scoring a touchdown White lifted his jersey to reveal a t-shirt emblazoned with the message 'Free Mike Vick'.
Vick - Atlanta's suspended quarterback - was sentenced to 23 months in prison on federal dog fighting charges on the morning of the match.
White was fined $10,000, as was tight end Alge Crumpler, and cornerbacks DeAngelo Hall and Chris Houston, who each had a written tribute to Vick on their eye strips.
Wide receiver Joe Horn was handed a $7,500 sanction for helping White display his message by pulling up his jersey.
