Denver Broncos receiver Rod Smith has announced his retirement after 12-years in the NFL.
The 38-year-old spent his entire career with the Broncos, helping the franchise win two Super Bowls.
After undergoing two hip operations in the past year-and-a-half, Smith has been on the reserve/retired list since February.
He finishes as Denver's all-time leader with 849 receptions, 11,389 receiving yards, 68 touchdown catches and 31 100-yard games, all of which are team records.
"Fate put me here and I'm glad," Smith said. "I gave them everything I had. I'm going to miss the locker room.
"If I didn't do anything else, I hope I was a great team-mate. All I ever wanted to do was win."
While career has ended in Denver another has only just begun after receiver Eddie Royal, a second-round draft pick, signed a contract.
