New two-year contract for wide receiver

Veteran receiver Derrick Mason has signed a new two-year contract with the Baltimore Ravens. The Ravens have revamped their receiving corps during the off-season with the recruitment of Anquan Boldin from Arizona and free agent Donte' Stallworth. Mason, 36, caught 73 passes for 1,028 yards last season and developed good chemistry with young quarterback Joe Flacco. His new deal is worth $8million according to the Baltimore Sun. "I'm getting myself ready to play football and help the Ravens win," Mason, who is 14th on the NFL's all-time reception list with 863, told the Ravens' official website. "But the first thing I am going to do is take my family on vacation."

Eagles swoop for Jackson

Meanwhile, former Indianapolis Colts defensive back Marlin Jackson has agreed a two-year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles. Jackson, the Colts' first-round pick in 2005, is on the comeback trail after a knee injury restricted him to just four games last season. The Tennessee Titans and free agent linebacker Will Witherspoon have agreed to terms on a multi-year contract. The terms, according to local media reports, are for three years and $11m. Witherspoon, an eight-year veteran, spent most of last season with the Eagles where he had 58 tackles, one sack and an interception he returned for a touchdown.
