Veteran tight end looking for a new team
The Washington Redskins have parted company with long-serving tight end Chris Cooley.
Cooley, 30, has been with the Redskins for the entirety of his 10-year NFL career.
His role with the Redskins was diminished last season because of the emergence of Fred Davis, and he had only eight catches in five games of an injury-hit campaign.
Redskins coach Mike Shanahan says parting with the two-time Pro Bowl selection was "as tough as it gets".
