The Green Bay Packers got back on track as Aaron Rodgers threw four touchdown passes in a 38-17 victory over the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field.
The Packers had slipped to 1-2 after a dismal offensive showing against the Detroit Lions last week but hit back in style to down another of their NFC North rivals.
Star quarterback Rodgers completed 22 of his 28 passes for 302 yards and the four scores, two of which went to Randall Cobb and two of which were hauled in by Jordy Nelson.
Cobb and Nelson provided the bulk of the offensive production with 113 and 108 receiving yards respectively, while Eddie Lacy also chipped in with a rushing touchdown.
The Bears, like Green Bay, ended the day with a record of 2-2. Matt Forte was their main offensive outlet with 171 yards from scrimmage while quarterback Jay Cutler threw two touchdowns and a pair of interceptions.
Elsewhere in Week Four, wideout Steve Smith came back to haunt the Carolina Panthers (2-2) as he tallied 139 receiving yards and two touchdowns in a 38-10 win for the Baltimore Ravens (3-1) at M&T Bank Stadium.
Smith, who was released in the off-season after 13 seasons with the Panthers, torched his old team for scores of 61 yards and 21 yards in the first half.
Torrey Smith also grabbed a touchdown while Justin Forsett and Lorenzo Taliaferro ran in scores. Quarterback Joe Flacco finished with 327 passing yards and three touchdowns.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1-3) registered their first win of the season in dramatic style as Vincent Jackson grabbed a touchdown pass with seven seconds left to clinch a 27-24 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers (2-2).
Making his first start of the season, Glennon threw for 302 yards and two touchdowns, the second of which overturned a four-point deficit at the very end of the final quarter at Heinz Field.
Glennon hit Louis Murphy up the middle for a 41-yard completion with 15 seconds left before finding Jackson for the winning touchdown three plays later.
Pittsburgh quarterback Ben Roethlisberger finished with 314 passing yards and three touchdowns and Steelers wideout Antonio Brown posted 131 passing yards and two scores.
Colts win
The Indianapolis Colts (2-2) clinched a second straight win as Andrew Luck and Reggie Wayne led the way in a 41-17 home success against the Tennessee Titans (1-3).
Luck threw for 393 passing yards and four touchdowns, while Wayne registered 119 receiving yards and a score. TY Hilton chipped in with six catches for 105 yards.
The Titans started Charlie Whitehurst at quarterback in place of the injured Jake Locker but the back-up signal caller was left staring at a 14-0 deficit before the end of the first quarter and could not spark a comeback.
The Buffalo Bills (2-2) suffered a second straight loss as the Houston Texans (3-1) clinched a 23-17 victory at NRG Stadium.
The Bills took a 10-point lead in the first quarter but gave up a 35-yard touchdown reception to DeAndre Hopkins before defensive end JJ Watt showed a blistering turn of speed to run an interception back 80 yards for a touchdown.
Three field goals from Randy Bullock was enough to complete the job from there, with Mike Williams’ 80-yard touchdown catch proving to be in vain for Buffalo.
The Detroit Lions (3-1) continued their strong early-season form with a 24-17 win over the New York Jets (1-3) at MetLife Stadium.
The visiting side were 17-3 up by half-time and never looked like relinquishing that lead after the interval. Golden Tate finished with 116 receiving yards while Jeremy Ross caught a 59-yard scoring strike from Matthew Stafford.
One of the only positives for the Jets was Chris Johnson finally showing signs of his old form with 35-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.
