Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick will be traded by the Houston Texans to the New York Jets for a late-round conditional draft pick, according to reports.

Houston have allowed Fitzpatrick to link up with the Jets following the re-signing of Ryan Mallett and the arrival of Bryan Hoyer, a third quarterback.

The Texans are due to receive a seventh-round pick, which could be upgraded to sixth, depending on Fitzpatrick’s playing time with the Jets.

Fitzpatrick reclaimed his starting role due to Mallett’s absence through injury and threw six touchdown passes against the Tennessee Titans, a franchise record.

He then suffered a broken leg in his second start, finishing with an overall throwing total of 2,483 yards, with 17 touchdowns and eight interceptions.
