Wes Welker is the latest free agent wide receiver to visit the Miami Dolphins as they seek to bolster their options for quarterback Ryan Tannehill.

The Dolphins traded Mike Wallace to the Minnesota Vikings and cut veterans Brian Hartline and Brandon Gibson.

Miami did trade for third-year receiver Kenny Stills from the New Orleans Saints and he will be in the mix to start alongside last year’s second-round pick Jarvis Landry and Rishard Matthews.

The team is in the market for an experienced player at the position to add to the group and have also hosted free agents Greg Jennings and Michael Crabtree.

The 33-year-old Welker, who played for Miami from 2004 to 2006, arrived at the team complex on Wednesday.

The five-time Pro Bowl player was with Denver last year and caught 49 passes for 464 yards and two scores, his least productive season since 2005.

Welker has been troubled by concussions but has missed only nine games in his 11-year career.
