New England Patriots sign free agent cornerback Tarell Brown

The New England Patriots have reached an agreement to sign free agent cornerback Tarell Brown on a one-year deal.
The defending Super Bowl champions have been in the market for secondary help since losing Darrelle Revis and Brandon Browner in free agency and cutting Kyle Arrington and Alfonzo Dennard.
The 30-year-old Brown has played for San Francisco (2007-2013) and Oakland (2014), with 114 career games to his name.
The team hosted Brown on free-agent visits in March and June but were unable to come to terms before now.
Brown suffered a broken foot in December that landed him on injured reserve. His health potentially could have been the reason for his extended stay on the free agent market.
The veteran will compete for a spot in a New England secondary that includes corners Malcolm Butler, Logan Ryan, Bradley Fletcher, Robert McClain, Derek Cox and Daryl Roberts.
