Tom Brady threw for 466 yards as he led the New England Patriots to a thrilling 40-32 win over the Buffalo Bills in Orchard Park.
Brady's total passing yardage was the second biggest of his storied NFL career, and he added three touchdown passes as the Patriots held off a game effort to rally from the Bills.
Julian Edelman scored two touchdowns, and the Patriots needed to stave off a fourth-quarter rally after building a 37-13 lead through three quarters, only killing the game off when Stephen Gostkowski hit a 25-yard field goal with 1:15 left.
The Bills' final drive ended on the next play from scrimmage when Tyrod Taylor's pass tipped off the hands of Sammy Watkins and was intercepted by Logan Ryan.
The Patriots (2-0) extended their run of dominance over their AFC East rivals by beating the Bills (1-1) for the 27th time in the past 30 meetings, with Brady boasting a 24-3 record. He also
Edelman hauled in 11 of Brady's passes for 97 yards, while running-back Dion Lewis had 98 yards receiving, but both were eclipsed by Rob Gronkowski, who had 113 and a touchdown.
Lewis also rushed for a touchdown, with returning running-back LeGarrette Blount only having a couple of carries in his first game of the season after suspension.
But the Bills, seen by some as a decent play-off contender, gave as good as they got with quarter Tyrod Taylor throwing three touchdown passes as well - more costly were his three interceptions.
Taylor also rushed for a touchdown, as did Karlos Williams, but they would come up short in their bid for a stunning comeback victory.
