Lemon back in for fellow back-up Beck

With his team still looking for their first win of the season, Miami Dolphins coach Cam Cameron has announced that quarterback Cleo Lemon will start Sunday's game against the Baltimore Ravens. Lemon had been replaced last month by rookie John Beck, whose subsequent struggles for the Dolphins (0-13) led to the former re-appearing in the first quarter of Sunday's 38-17 loss to Buffalo. "I talked with both the quarterbacks (Tuesday) and told Cleo that he would start in this game," Cameron said. "I think you saw that Cleo has done some good things throughout the course of this year. "John knows his job is to get us in the end zone. We had struggled in that area and Cleo came in and gave us a spark (Sunday), and that's the direction we'll go at this point."

Concussion

Lemon himself was called into action in Week Five when concussion caused starting QB Trent Green to be placed on season-ending injured reserved. After he went winless in four starts, Cameron then decided to take a look at Beck, a second-round pick out of Brigham Young in April's draft. Beck completed 47 out of 86 passes for 424 yards with no touchdowns and three interceptions in his four starts for the Dolphins. In six games this season, Lemon has three made passing touchdowns and four rushing scores - albeit offset by four interceptions and three lost fumbles. The Dolphins are trying in vain to avoid the first winless season since the NFL went to a 16-game schedule. The 1976 Tampa Bay Buccaneers finished 0-14 - the only winless season since the 1970 NFL-AFL merger.
