Broken leg finishes tight end's season
New York Giants tight end Jeremy Shockey's season is over due to a broken leg.
Shockey sustained a fractured left fibula while attempting to make a block during the third quarter of the Giants 22-10 defeat to the Washington Redskins last Sunday.
The four-time Pro Bowler is expected to undergo surgery this week and will definitely miss the remainder of the season.
It is a major blow to the play-off-chasing Giants, who are currently in pole position for an NFC wild card with a 9-5 record.
