Worst team ever?

Detroit became the first ever NFL team to go 0-16, but are they the worst in sporting history?

Join the Sky Sports Debate on who is the worst team in sport

The Detroit Lions became the first team in NFL history to go 0-16 to officially become the worst to have ever suited up in American Football - but are they the worst team in sport? The Tampa Bay Buccaneers of 1976 went 0-14 before the NFL was expanded, but in modern-day NFL, to go 0-16 really is the height of ineptitude. Coach Rod Marinelli has paid the price after being sacked by the Lions for his part in making unwanted history. Sunderland had set the benchmark for Premier League badness, when they were relegated with 15 points, but Derby County replaced them last year by not only earning just 11 points, but also equalling Loughborough's century-old league record of just one win in a season. Cricket also has its whipping boys, with minnows Bangladesh only ever winning one Test match in 57 attempts, but does that make them worthy of the worst team ever award? Send us your thoughts on Detroit's dreadful season, and whether you think they are the worst team to take to the field. Do you know of any team in any sport with a worse record? Or do you play for a team that struggles to taste victory? Join the Sky Sports Debate using the feedback form below.
