Giants linebacker to miss season opener
Michael Boley has been suspended without pay for one game after violating the NFL's personal conduct policy.
Boley will miss the New York Giants' season opener against the Washington Redskins on September 13.
The linebacker, who recently underwent hip surgery and is expected to miss the start of training camp, is allowed to participate in pre-season games and practices.
The nature of Boley's violation was not disclosed by the league.
The 26-year-old spent his first four years in the NFL with the Atlanta Falcons after being selected out of Southern Mississippi in the fifth round of the 2005 draft.
He became a free agent at the end of last season and signed a five-year, $25 million deal with the Giants in February.
