Max Whitlock claimed two gold medals in less than two hours on Sunday at the Rio Olympics to further boost Team GB's haul.

The 23-year-old came out on top in the men's floor exercise competition before heading a British one-two on the men's pommel.

Whitlock finished with a score of 15.633 in his first event on Sunday after a flawless floor routine to finish top of the leaderboard among the eight competitors.

He then scored 15.966 on the pommel horse to double his gold tally, with fellow Brit Louis Smith taking silver, having achieved the same feat at London 2012.
