Alistair Brownlee became the first man to successfully defend the Olympics men's triathlon title when he led a British one-two in the event on Thursday.
In a dominant performance, Alistair - the 2012 winner - was first again and followed over the finish line six seconds later by his brother Jonny, who took silver ahead of South Africa's Henri Schoeman.
Alistair's victory gave the Brits their 20th gold medal of the Olympics and they go into Friday with 22 in total - already a best-ever haul from an away Games.
Jonny's strong display - which only saw him drop away from his sibling with 5km of the run remaining - saw him improve on the silver he earned in London four years ago.
The Yorkshire pair overcame sweltering conditions in Rio to secure their medals and effectively made the difference in the early part of the cycling leg.
Putting distance between themselves and their main rival, Spaniard Mario Mola, it gave them a platform to go on and see out another brilliant triumph for Team GB.
