Former Olympic gold medallist Liu Xiang believes he can win a medal in the 110m hurdles at the 2012 London Games despite his recent injury problems.
The 26-year-old, who won gold in Athens in 2004, had to limp out of the Beijing Games with an Achilles injury in his opening heat in 2008, and has only just returned to competitive action.
Liu finished seventh at the world indoor championships in Doha, but is still confident that he can reproduce the form of 2004 to claim a medal in London.
He said: "I am confident about a podium at London Olympics but it would be great just to get to the final."
The former world champion, who won China's first-ever gold medal on the track in Greece, is aware that current Olympic and World Indoor champion Cuban Dayron Robles is a hard opposition to beat.
"Robles is awesome. He is excellent in all aspects," said Liu.
