Trott, who admitted during the games that she was dating team-mate Kenny, was a double gold medallist at London 2012 with victories in the team pursuit and omnium.
She linked up with Dani King and Jo Rowsell to win the first of those medals, and both of her team-mates were awarded MBEs.
Trott has an incredible list of palmares at the age of only 20, with three World Championship gold medals and three European Elite titles to go with the Olympic successes.
Kenny had the tough test of filling Sir Chris Hoy's boots in the men's sprint, but he managed it with aplomb as he claimed revenge on French rival Gregory Bauge in the final.
That made it two golds for the 24-year-old from Bolton, who had earlier partnered Hoy and Philip Hindes in winning the team sprint in a new world record time.
Hindes, who took over lead-off duties in a new-look line-up, gets an MBE as reward for his part in the team's gold medal glory.
Kenny said: "It's something really special that you don't ever plan for. It's something you can share with the family and something really nice when it comes along.
"It's a great honour and it's not every day you get to go to Buckingham Palace, so to get that invite is really special."
