Fox-Pitt has collected a host of silverware over the course of his career

Fox-Pitt has represented Great Britain consistently over the past 15 years, collecting an impressive array of silverware along the way.

The eventing specialist has tasted Olympic medal success twice in the past, having won team silver at the 2004 Games in Athens and team bronze in Beijing four years later.

He has also won multiple medals at the World Equestrian Games, clinching team bronze in 2002, team silver in 2006 and most recently team gold as well as individual silver in Kentucky in 2010.

He has additionally enjoyed notable successes at the Burghley, Badminton, Blenheim and Bramham horse trials, many times aboard Tamarillo, one of his best known partners.

Born into an equestrian family, Fox-Pitt began riding at the age of just four before starting eventing at 15.

His achievements in the sport make him one of the most successful British event riders of all time, while he has ranked as British No.1 on eight occasions.

Fox-Pitt has hinted he could retire from top-level eventing after the 2012 Games, meaning he has added incentive to go one better than Athens and strive for a coveted gold medal in London.
