The Litmus test

Image: Brown: celebrates with Huddersfield

With both sides flying high in Super League, Huddersfield against Hull should be a cracker says Stevo.

Can the Giants defence handle Horne?

I cannot wait for this game as it is developing into something rather tasty. Nathan Brown has certainly revitalised Huddersfield and having watched them play I am impressed. They look sharper, they look fitter and in Brett Hodgson they have a star fullback. He is in tremendous form and adds a wonderful dimension to their game. One of the most pleasing things for Huddersfield coach Nathan Brown is the combination of the two halfbacks. Luke Robinson has been playing very well and his partnership with Kevin Brown has really clicked. I am not sure where they will play Brown, but wherever they play him he will be dangerous. It is going to be intriguing because Huddersfield's former stand-off Chris Thorman returns to The Galpharm Stadium. A lot of people thought that the Giants would miss Thorman but they have coped well. Fair play to Thorman too who has certainly formed a good partnership with Richard Horn at Hull FC. And what a difference Horne makes to the Hull side - lets hope he makes the season injury free. To see this guy in full flight is wonderful. The coach is fully aware of his talent and it is bearing fruit. I know that one man does not make a team, but in this day and age one man can almost make a team. In this case it is Richard Horne. If he is playing well then Hull are playing well. He has the mental and the physical strength to compete at the highest level and I am so pleased that he is fully fit and playing well. In today's modern game of very tight defences you need something special to break them down. Hull FC have that in Horne. The Hull FC forwards are also making inroads and Danny Tickle is certainly putting himself about. They have a good squad and Richard Agar should be proud of his side. I think this is going to balance out into a very nice little game and is going to be a test for both sides. Both are flying high in the table, both cock-a-hoop with some pretty solid wins so far this season. Both sets of fans have been saying that we are going to do well this year and I think this game will decide how well they do. If Huddersfield keep up their defensive line as well as they did against Bradford, then they should scrape home, but never discount Hull and the Horne factor.

Stevo says

Star man: Kevin Brown Well I have spoken enough about Richard Horne so I think I will go with Huddersfield's Kevin Brown. He has been sensational so far and shown some very deft touches. Home win: A sneaky Huddersfield win but I certainly won't be taking my wallet out and backing my judgement!
