Simon Grix has decided to return to his hometown club Halifax following his release from Warrington.
The 29-year-old back rower, who made the move in the opposite direction in 2006, has agreed an initial 12-month deal with an option for a second year with the Championship club.
Halifax coach Richard Marshall, a former assistant at Warrington, was thrilled Grix turned down other clubs to make the move.
Marshall said: "Having someone like Simon in our organisation is a real positive. He's a true leader on the field and an excellent professional off it.
"He had several other excellent options to consider but he has chosen to continue his career at Halifax RLFC which we are delighted about."
Grix, who has missed the entire 2015 season through injury, will combine his playing career with a role on the backroom staff.
