Scott Moore, who scored the try that kept Wakefield in Super League for 2016, has been rewarded with a two-year contract.

The 27-year-old hooker ruptured his biceps in only his second appearance for the Wildcats, in their opening match of the Super 8s.

However, he recovered in time to play in the final game of the season, dubbed the '£1m match', which decided who claimed the 12th and final spot in next year's competition.

Moore scored a late try against Bradford to clinch the 24-16 win and has now secured a deal through to the end of the 2017 season.

In a statement, Moore said: "I really enjoyed my time here while on loan (from Castleford) last season. I'm excited for the challenge ahead and what is in store here at Wakefield this season."
