Alex Foster signs new two-year Castleford contract

Back-row forward Alex Foster has earned a two-year contract at Castleford just a month after making his debut for the Super League leaders.

Foster, 23, has penned a new deal that will see him stay at the club until 2019 having already secured an extension to a short-term deal after joining on trial in February following Bradford's liquidation.

"I'm over the moon to sign here for another two years," said Foster. "It's a great place to be here at the moment and everyone can see why with how well the boys are doing on the field."

Tigers head coach Daryl Powell added: "I've been really impressed with Alex since he arrived at the club.

"He hasn't had a pre-season and he's had minimal game time but he's battled his way through all of that and a couple of injuries and he looks like he's going to be a really strong player for us."
