Huddersfield Giants have signed Salford scrum-half Luke Robinson on a three-year deal.

New signing tipped to shine at the Galpharm Stadium

Huddersfield have raided relegated Salford to sign scrum-half Luke Robinson. The 23-year-old will move to the Galpharm Stadium next season on a three-year deal. Giants coach Jon Sharp is delighted with his latest acquisition who he describes as 'one of the best half-backs in the game'. "This is an enormous signing for us," he said. "He is without doubt one of the best half-backs in the game and to be able to bring him to Huddersfield is absolutely fantastic "I know he's a player every Super League club would like in their side, so for him to choose us is massive. "He's a fantastic player with all the skills and a great leader. He is also an excellent kicker in open play. "On top of that, Luke is a warrior and has the heart of a lion. He's tenacious and blessed with an incredible amount of skill."

Promising pair

Sharp intends to put new recruit Robinson alongside Kevin Brown in a new-look half-back pairing that he feels has international credentials. "I'm already extremely excited about seeing him link up with Kevin Brown at half-back," he enthused. "As far as I'm concerned, the Giants now have the future Great Britain half-back pairing."

Mass exodus

Robinson will not be the last departure from The Willows after Salford lost their battle to avoid the drop last weekend. David Hodgson is rumoured to be following his team-mate to Huddersfield while Andy Coley could be set to finally complete a move to Wigan. Mike Wainwright has already left to join Leigh and Andrew Brocklehurst, David Gower, Gray Viane and Richie Barnett are all out of contract at the end of the season.
