Prop departs Hull by mutual consent to join Wakefield
Hull have released Paul King from his contract, paving the way for the prop forward to move to Wakefield.
The 30-year-old had a year left on his deal at the KC Stadium but has departed his home club by mutual consent, leaving him free to follow former Hull coach John Kear to Belle Vue.
King, who was Hull's longest-serving player having joined the team as a teenager in 1998, was a member of the club's 2005 Challenge Cup-winning team under Kear.
"I have loved every minute of my time at Hull FC but I feel I am right to move on," said King.
"I have some wonderful memories down the years with Hull FC and I wish everybody at the club good luck for next season."
Hull chief executive James Rule hailed the prop and the time he has spent at the club.
"Paul has had a long career with Hull FC and was rightly rewarded with a testimonial in recognition of that service," said Rule.
"We wish him the best of luck in his future career."
