Bradford scrum-half leaves on loan, Crossley released
Bradford scrum-half Cain Southernwood has joined Championship club Dewsbury on a season-long loan deal.
And he could possibly be joined by prop forward Steve Crossley, who has been released by the Bulls.
The 19-year-old Southernwood, who has represented England at Academy level, joined the Bulls from Wakefield in 2009 but has made only two appearances, both of them in 2010.
And Bradford football manager Stuart Duffy says the club are keen to give him a temporary spell away so he can gain some valuable first-team experience.
"Cain needs to be playing regularly and developing his talents on a weekly basis and that is something he will get at Dewsbury," he said.
Crossley had a year left on his contract at Odsal but will leave the club by mutual consent with immediate effect.
"Steve played a couple of Super League games with the Bulls last season and did well," Duffy said.
"I'm pleased to say there's been quite a bit of interest from elsewhere so I don't expect Steve to be without a club for very long."
