Prop faces spell on the sidelines following thumb injury
Wakefield prop forward Oliver Wilkes is facing six to eight weeks on the sidelines after snapping ligaments in his thumb.
Wilkes, who rejoined the Wildcats from London Broncos in the winter, sustained the injury in the first half of his side's 26-22 Stobart Super League win over Salford last Saturday but went on to produce arguably his best display of the season.
Coach Richard Agar admitted the injury is an untimely blow for his side.
"It is really disappointing because his hard work was paying off and he was excellent against Salford," he said.
